STUNT Defeats Arizona State, 19-7

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU STUNT team defeated NCAA Division I foe Arizona State, 19-7, at the Burg Center on Saturday. With the victory, the Patriots improve to 2-0 on the season.
 
FINAL SCORE (DBU- 19 and ASU- 7) 
Quarter 1 - Partner Stunts Score: 3-1 The Patriots started with possession and came out confidently, winning the point in routines four and one. ASU answered by winning the point for routine five, but it was not enough to gain a lead. 
 
Quarter 2 - Pyramids and Tosses Score: 7-3 This was the strongest quarter for the Patriots, with a standout performance by Alyssa Parker, a sophomore. They shut down ASU in every single routine, executing each pyramid to the best of their ability. "Alyssa stepped into a few new routines this morning due to an illness," said Assistant Coach Mattie Royal. "You never would have known that we made changes, and she handled it like a champion." 
 
Quarter 3 - Jumps and Tumbling Score: 10-3 Following halftime, DBU continued to pull away from the Sun Devils. The Patriots fought through a few mistakes in this quarter and still came away with three out of four possible points. 
 
Quarter 4 - Team Routine Final Score: 19-7 Gaining a considerable lead, the Patriots were confident to finish this game well. They dominated the Sun Devils and received 9 out of 12 possible points in the final quarter. 
Lilly Musani, a sophomore transfer, said this about their performance, "Our team faced a challenging opponent, but kept the same energy and teamwork. This win made us stronger as a team and more confident in one another."
