The DBU Women's Track & Field team kicked off the outdoor season at the TCU Alumni Invitational, delivering an impressive opening-weekend performance. With a packed schedule ahead—racing in five of the next six weekends—the Lady Patriots set the tone for what promises to be an exciting stretch of competition.Â
Â
Senior Emily Cole made a strong statement in her final season as a DBU athlete, winning her heat of the 1500m in a career-best time of 4:46.22. Her performance highlighted her determination and racing pedigree. Several teammates also notched personal bests in the event, including
Anastasia Tronicek (4:54.20),
Courtney Richman (4:54.36), and
Penelope Rios (4:58.68).Â
Â
Fresh off scoring points at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track Championships, Meadow Housman carried that momentum into the outdoor season with a dominant debut in the 100m hurdles. She clocked a personal-best time of 14.74 seconds, breaking the 15-second barrier for the first time in her career.
Kendal Brown also set a new personal record in the event, finishing in 16.03 seconds.Â
Â
The 5000m was another standout event, with three Lady Patriots achieving new best times:
Makayla Stephens (18:28.07),
Megan Kirtley (18:46.82), and Barie Ruiz (18:54.31). In the field events, the javelin throw proved to be a strong showing for DBU, as

Ashley Young (22.31m), and Brown (22.26m) all posted personal-best marks.Â
