The DBU Men's Tennis team took on two of the Lone Star Conference's toughest programs this weekend, falling to #8 UT Tyler and #37 St. Mary's in back-to-back matches. On Friday, the Patriots traveled to Tyler, Texas, to face a strong UT Tyler squad. The Patriots fought hard, but the Patriots of UT Tyler proved too much, securing a 7-0 sweep and not allowing DBU to get on the board in a dominant performance.

Saturday brought the team back home to Dallas for a matchup with another conference powerhouse in St. Mary's. Though the final score was 6-1 in favor of the Rattlers, the Patriots showed grit in several tightly contested matches. The highlight of the day came at line one singles, where senior Matthew Abbey earned a hard-fought win to put DBU's lone point on the board, making it a fitting moment on Senior Day.

While the Patriots came up short in both matches, the team gained valuable experience against two of the top teams in the conference. DBU will look to regroup and build off the positives as they continue their Lone Star Conference campaign.
