The DBU Women's Tennis team battled through a competitive weekend in Lone Star Conference play, but came up just short in a pair of 3-4 losses against strong conference opponents.
On Friday, DBU traveled to Tyler, Texas, to take on UT Tyler in a tightly contested matchup. The Lady Patriots pushed several singles matches to three sets, but the deciding points ultimately went UT Tyler's way, leading to a narrow 3-4 defeat. Returning home to Arlington on Saturday, DBU faced off against St. Mary's in another hard-fought match. The outcome once again came down to just a few key moments, with the doubles point proving to be the difference in the 3-4 decision favoring the Rattlers.

Despite the tough results, the weekend saw standout performances from sophomore Emily Buchanan, who continued her dominant season. Buchanan extended her perfect singles record with a straight-sets win at line five against St. Mary's (6-4, 6-4) and another victory at the same line versus UT Tyler. Buchanan also teamed up with Jenna Payne to form a formidable duo at line two doubles. The pair went undefeated on the weekend, providing a steady presence and key points in both matchups. The Lady Patriots showed grit and resilience in two matches that could have gone either way. They'll look to turn that competitive edge into wins as conference play continues.
