The Dallas Baptist University Lady Patriots Women's Tennis team delivered a statement to close out their regular season, going 2-0 on the weekend with a 5-2 win over #20 Lubbock Christian on Saturday and a commanding 7-0 sweep of UT Permian Basin on Sunday.

Saturday marked the final match day at the Patriot Tennis Courts, and the Lady Patriots made it one to remember. After a slow start in doubles play against nationally ranked LCU, DBU stormed back in singles, winning five of six matches, to secure their third win over a top-20 opponent this season. On Sunday, the team carried that momentum into a matchup against UTPB at Texas Christian University. From the first serve, DBU was locked in, capturing the doubles point and sweeping all six singles matches to close out the regular season in dominant fashion.

One of the biggest storylines of the season has been the remarkable consistency of Emily Buchanan, who finished the regular season undefeated at line five singles with a perfect 21-0 record, an incredible accomplishment and a steady force in the Lady Patriots' lineup all year long. With a 6-4 record in conference play, three of those losses coming by just one match, the Lady Patriots now await seeding for the conference tournament. With the field wide open and DBU playing some of its best tennis of the year, the team is poised and ready for a postseason run.

DBU HEAD COACH WADE MORGAN ON THE TEAM PERFORMANCE
"Great way to end our last regular season ever, we're motivated and determined to improve on our finish last season. Ready to get after it."
