FINAL SCORE (DBU- 15, AU- 7)
Quarter 1 - Partner Stunts Score: 4-0 The Eagles started with possession and called routine two, but the Patriots stole the point. DBU continued to come out on top for the remainder of the quarter, shutting Ashland out 4-0 to start the game.
Â
Quarter 2 - Pyramids and Tosses Score: 8-2 This has not been the best quarter for the Patriots all weekend, but today that was not the case. DBU attacked each pyramid and left no points behind. They tied with the Eagles in routines six and one to finish the quarter still ahead by six points.
Â
Quarter 3 - Jumps and Tumbling Score: 11-5 Following halftime, DBU continued to prove their resilience. The Patriots and the Eagles tied for the first two routines of the quarter and then fell to AU in routine one. They finished strong taking the last point of the quarter in routine 3.
Â
Quarter 4 - Team Routine Final Score: 15-7 Ahead by six points, DBU was looking to end the game early in a mercy rule. They dominated the Eagles in the two routines played in the last quarter and advanced to play another game. "We were excited to play Ashland today and show how bad we deserve to stay in this tournament," said Assistant Coach Mattie Royal. "This win proved to our team how competitive we are when we believe in one another and preform with confidence."
