LAST TIME OUT
Two weeks ago, the Dallas Baptist University men's tennis team had an impressive weekend, securing a 4-3 win over Texas Wesleyan and a 4-2 victory against Weatherford. On Friday, Edgar Mayorga played a crucial role in the win over Texas Wesleyan, making a dramatic comeback to clinch the match with a 7-5 win in the third set. Arturo Langle and Fabian Rosales also added singles victories. The next day, Alec Rule and Arturo Beitman secured key singles wins, while Matthew Abbey contributed with a victory at line 2. Strong doubles play was pivotal in both matches, as the Patriots won the doubles point in each, giving them a 1-0 lead heading into singles. This continued success in doubles has been a key factor for DBU this season.


PATRIOT STORYLINES
- The Patriots are back in action this weekend, kicking off Lone Star Conference play against Sul Ross State and Western New Mexico.
- The Patriots currently hold a 13-3 record.
- Four Patriots remain undefeated in singles play, including Edgar Mayorga (8-0), Kell Castleberry (4-0), Mariano Guzman (3-0), and Oliver Whittaker (1-0). 
- The doubles teams of Kell Castleberry and Arturo Beitman (4-0), Arturo Langle and Matthew Abbey (9-2), Alec Rule and Edgar Mayorga (9-2), and Zach Capone and Mariano Guzman (3-0) have built impressive records in doubles play.
- DBU has a 67-23 record in singles play and a 37-11 record in doubles. 


SCOUTING SUL ROSS STATE
- DBU will face Sul Ross State on Friday. 
- Sul Ross State competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Lone Star Conference and holds a 0-6 record so far this season.
- The Patriots own the all-time series, 2-0, against the Lobos since their first matchup on February 14, 2015. 

SCOUTING WESTERN NEW MEXICO
- DBU will face Western New Mexico on Saturday.
- Western New Mexico competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Lone Star Conference and holds a 4-3 record so far this season.
- The Mustangs own the all-time series, 3-2, against the Patriots since their first matchup on February 10, 2006.
