Dr. Blake Flickner has been named the Small Basketball Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches for the 2024-2025 season. Coach Flickner guided the Patriots to a remarkable 34-5 season, setting a new program record for most wins in a campaign. DBU posted a 19-3 record in Lone Star Conference play, capturing the school's first regular-season conference championship. Flickner then led the Patriots to an LSC Tournament victory, and the school hosted the NCAA South Central Regional. The Patriots won the South Central Regional for the first time in school history and secured a win in the Elite Eight to advance to their first-ever Final Four appearance.

This award adds to Flickner's 2024-2025 collection, joining the LSC Coach of the Year honor he earned earlier this spring.

Dr. Blake Flickner will carry a record of 370-216 heading into the 2025-2026 season.
