Lady Patriots Face Tough Test Against No. 3 Midwestern State in LSC Semifinals

LAST TIME OUT
The DBU Women's Tennis team advanced to the Lone Star Conference Semifinals with a dominant 4-0 win over No. 3 seed and nationally ranked No. 20 Lubbock Christian. The Lady Patriots swept doubles play, with Madalyn Smelley and Isabella Arana-Rios winning 6-3 at line one and Jenna Payne and Emily Buchanan dominating 6-0 at line two. In singles, Katherine Robinson, Isabella Arana-Rios, and Emily Buchanan each secured straight-set victories, with Buchanan clinching the match with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-1 comeback at line five. With the win, DBU continues their postseason run, buoyed by strong team chemistry and standout individual performances, including Buchanan's undefeated singles season and Player of the Year honors.



PATRIOT STORYLINES
- After a 4-0 victory over Lubbock Christian in the LSC Quarterfinals, the Lady Patriots advance to face Midwestern State in the semifinals.
- DBU currently holds a 20-4 record.
- The Lady Patriots hold a 92-31 record in singles play and a 46-21 record in doubles.
- Emily Buchanan (22-0) and Andrea Delgado (15-1) boast an impressive record in singles play.
- The doubles teams of Jenna Payne and Emily Buchanan (19-4)  and  Isabella Quintero and Andrea Delgado (17-5) have built impressive records in doubles play.
- Emily Buchana capped off her regular season with an undefeated 21-0 record at line five singles and earned LSC Player and Sportsmanship player of the year


SCOUTING MIDWESTERN STATE
- DBU will face Midwestern State on Friday.
- Midwestern State competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Lone Star Conference and finished the regular season 20-2.
- The Mustangs own the all-time series, 14-3, against the Lady Patriots since their first matchup on March 23, 2006.
