Patriot Women’s Tennis Draws St. Mary’s in NCAA Regional Opener

LAST TIME OUT

The DBU Women's Tennis team will travel to San Antonio, Texas, on Monday at 12 p.m. to compete as the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Division II South Central Region Preliminaries. The Lady Patriots open the tournament against the second-seed St. Mary's, who are making their 11th all-time appearance. 

DBU returns for the third time in school history after putting together a 22-4 season and a 6-4 mark in a highly competitive Lone Star Conference, and is entering postseason play with a five-match winning streak. St. Mary's clinched their ticket and the No. 2 seed after a 17-3 overall record and a 9-1 conference mark. St. Mary's is 9-2 all-time in the South Central Regional, this is the third-straight time to host and the eighth time overall.



PATRIOT STORYLINES
- After a 4-1 victory over UT Tyler in the LSC Finals, the Lady Patriots won their first-ever Lone Star Conference Tournament Title. 
- DBU currently holds a 22-4 record.
- The Lady Patriots hold a 98-34 record in singles play and a 50-21 record in doubles.
- Emily Buchanan (24-0) and Andrea Delgado (16-1) boast an impressive record in singles play.
- The doubles teams of Jenna Payne and Emily Buchanan (21-4)  and  Isabella Quintero and Andrea Delgado (17-5) have built impressive records in doubles play.
- Emily Buchana capped off her regular season with an undefeated 21-0 record at line five singles and earned LSC Player and Sportsmanship Player of the Year




SCOUTING ST. MARY'S
- DBU will face St. Mary's on Monday.
- St. Mary's competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Lone Star Conference and finished the regular season 17-3.
- The Rattlers own the all-time series, 20-7, against the Lady Patriots since their first matchup on April 15, 2005.
