The 2025 NCAA DII PING All-Region team has been announced, with junior Sam Jenkins being named among the 12 selected from the South-Central region. Jenkins, the 2023 transfer from California Baptist, has been a top competitor for the Patriots since his arrival last year. In his two years with DBU, Jenkins has competed in all 22 consecutive events. In the 2023-2024 season, he earned his first collegiate win at the Hot Dirt Desert Shootout, shot the program record of 64 at the Ryan Palmer Invite, and reached the highest ranking in program history at No. 12.
This season, Jenkins's best finishes came at the Rattler Invitational and LSC Tournament, where he was runner-up. In the Lone Star Conference Tournament, Jenkins led the team in strokeplay, finishing second after firing a 67 in the final round to help the Patriots advance to medal matchplay. He went on to finish one-up in his semifinal match versus STMU, then finished two-up on his Midwestern State opponent in the championship match. At the Super Regional, Jenkins finished the season with a 28th place after posting a 54-hole total of four-under.
This marks Jenkins's second consecutive year to be named to the PING All-Region Team. The other players named to the South-Central All-Region Team include Seth Bearden from Midwestern State, Cole Beyer from Colorado Mesa, Xavier Bighaus, Sungyeop Cho, Sangha Park, and Adam Duncan from Colorado Christian, Seth Campbell of UT Tyler, Kongpop Kaikaew and Baptiste Touchard of St. Mary's, and Leandro Mihaich and Oskari Nikku of Oklahoma Christian.
