DBU Women’s Tennis Aims for LSC Crown Against No. 26 UT Tyler

LAST TIME OUT

The DBU Women's Tennis team continued their postseason surge with a statement 4-2 victory over No. 2 seed and nationally ranked No. 3 Midwestern State, securing a spot in the Lone Star Conference Championship Final. The Lady Patriots set the tone early by sweeping doubles play, as Madalyn Smelley and Isabella Arana-Rios earned a hard-fought 6-4 win at line one, and Jenna Payne and Emily Buchanan clinched the point with a 6-3 win at line two. In singles action, Smelley battled through three sets to win 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at line two, Buchanan remained undefeated with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at line five, and freshman Andrea Delgado sealed the match at line six with a confident 6-2, 6-3 win. Despite dropping two singles matches, DBU maintained control throughout, with the remaining matches going unfinished after reaching the clinch point.



PATRIOT STORYLINES
- After a 4-2 victory over Midwestern State in the LSC Semifinals, the Lady Patriots advance to face UT Tyler in the finals.
- DBU currently holds a 21-4 record.
- The Lady Patriots hold a 95-33 record in singles play and a 48-21 record in doubles.
- Emily Buchanan (23-0) and Andrea Delgado (16-1) boast an impressive record in singles play.
- The doubles teams of Jenna Payne and Emily Buchanan (20-4)  and  Isabella Quintero and Andrea Delgado (17-5) have built impressive records in doubles play.
- Emily Buchana capped off her regular season with an undefeated 21-0 record at line five singles and earned LSC Player and Sportsmanship Player of the Year


SCOUTING UT TYLER
- DBU will face UT Tyler on Saturday.
-UT Tyler competes at the NCAA Division II level in the Lone Star Conference and finished the regular season 16-9.
- The all-time series is tied four apiece for the Patriots since their first matchup on 
- The Mustangs own the all-time series, 14-3, against the Lady Patriots since their first matchup on February 18, 2005.
