In a season marked by milestones and historic achievements, the DBU Women's Tennis team closed out its final campaign ranked No. 12 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings—the highest finish in program history.
The Lady Patriots etched their names in the record books by reaching the NCAA National Championships for the first time ever, following a dominant performance that secured their first Lone Star Conference Tournament title. With a final record of 23-4, DBU set a new program standard for wins in a single season.
Adding to the list of accomplishments, the doubles duo of
Isabella Arana Rios and
Madalyn Smelley also earned national recognition, finishing the year ranked No. 36 in the ITA doubles rankings. As the team's top-line pairing, Arana Rios and Smelley compiled 12 victories and anchored a formidable doubles lineup throughout the season.
This year's final rankings serve as a fitting tribute to a DBU Women's Tennis program that went out on top, leaving behind a legacy of excellence.
