THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team earned its first victory of the 2025 campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Colorado Christian on Thursday night at Patriot Soccer Field.
Redshirt junior
Chase Turcotte delivered the decisive moment just three minutes into the second half, unleashing a blistering strike from 30 yards out that curled into the top left corner of the net. His highlight-reel finish broke the scoreless deadlock and lifted the Patriots to their first home win of the season.
Anchored by a composed back line and veteran goalkeeper
Patrick Banich, DBU kept CCU at bay to secure the clean sheet. Banich came up with the save of the night in the 75th minute, diving to push away a shot that nearly tucked inside the left post. He added another crucial stop in the closing seconds to preserve the result and record his third career shutout.
DBU dominated the attacking chances throughout, outshooting the Cougars 20–6 and controlling possession for much of the match.
