No. 1 Women's Golf Sits Sixth After Day One at Folds of Honor Challenge

THE RUNDOWN
The No. 1-ranked DBU Women's Golf team wrapped up the opening round of the Folds of Honor Challenge on Monday in sixth place at the Meadows in Allendale, Michigan. The Patriots posted a 21-over par 305, leaving them 22 strokes back of Findlay University, who set the pace with a 1-under 283 through the first 18 holes.

Gracie Grant paced DBU with a steady round of 2-over 73, placing her in a tie for 10th individually. Madison Ude and Ella Cheek each turned in 6-over 77s to sit tied for 22nd, while Chloe Sirkin closed day one at 7-over and holds 25th.

Despite the gap at the top, the Patriots remain well within striking distance of the upper tier of the leaderboard. DBU is just seven strokes shy of West Texas A&M, Indianapolis, and Odessa College, who are locked in a three-way tie for third. With two rounds left to play, the nation's top-ranked squad will look to gain ground when play resumes on Tuesday.
