LAST TIME OUT
DBU traveled to Amherst, New York, last weekend to participate in the Wildcat Classic hosted by Daemen University. The Lady Patriots were the only squad on the trip to finish with an undefeated weekend, taking down Wayne State (MI) and Daemen in four sets, and Clarion in a five-set marathon.

Junior outside hitter Karly Wells and freshman setter Paityn Winters were named to the all-tournament team, showcasing the group's contributions among both veterans and newcomers. Winters was notably named Lone Star Conference freshman of the week for her performance in New York, totaling 67 assists and 42 digs across the weekend.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE CROSSOVER
Texas Woman's University is serving as one of the host sites for this weekend's Lone Star Conference Crossover, welcoming DBU (5-1) and St. Mary's (2-6) to their barn, Kitty Magee Arena.

The Lady Patriots are the only team entering this weekend's LSC Crossover riding a winning streak, while St. Mary's looks to rebound after three consecutive losses, and Texas Woman's aims to recover after falling in four sets to No. 2 Central Oklahoma.

In the LSC preseason poll, DBU was picked to finish fourth and received two first-place votes, Texas Woman's was slotted at fifth, and St. Mary's was picked as number six.

LADY PATRIOT STORYLINES
Ice Cold Winters: Freshman setter Paityn Winters has blossomed into a consistent all-around contributor just two weeks into her collegiate career. Winters has a team-high four double-doubles through the first six games of the season, and also has six aces to her name.
iKarly: Junior outside Karly Wells was tasked this season with filling the shoes of Delaney Fuller, a two-time All-American who holds the two highest kill seasons in program history. On September 6th against MSU Moorhead, Wells posted 34 kills, a number not even Fuller reached in her career.
Blue Christmas: Freshman libero Blue Anderson has been nothing short of a gift to the Lady Patriot back row. Anderson owns a clip of 4.71 digs per set and has showcased her elite range on the court to keep plays alive.
A Witte Response: Freshman outside Lauren Witte is another newcomer who has made an immediate impact. Witte is averaging 2.58 kills per set and has landed 11 service aces through six games. Witte posted double-doubles against MSU Moorhead and Clarion, both of which were weekend finales.
