Patriots' Coe Named Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week

DBU Women's Soccer's Parker Coe has been named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Coe, a senior center back from Carrollton, Texas, played a pivotal role in helping the No. 5-ranked Patriots post back-to-back shutouts last week against Angelo State and St. Mary's.

In DBU's 2-0 victory over the Rambelles in their LSC opener, Coe anchored a back line that limited Angelo State to just three total shots. She followed up the performance on Saturday with a standout two-way effort, scoring a goal and adding an assist in a 3-0 road win at St. Mary's.

Today's announcement marks the second time in her career that Coe has earned the league's top defensive weekly honor.

Coe and the Patriots will look to build on their strong start to conference play when they travel to UT Tyler on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
