| By:
Karly Wells has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Wells earns the award after hitting .467 with 5.40 kills per set in three matches, including a record-setting performance against Lubbock Christian on Saturday.

Wells and the Patriots began the week on the road with a four-set win against Texas A&M-Kingsville, where the senior outside hitter totaled a game-high 18 kills with a .372 hitting percentage. The Fort Worth, Texas, product returned to DBU on Friday night versus Midwestern State, totaling 10 kills on a .259 clip en route to a sweep of Midwestern State. Wells then made her mark in the Patriot record books, becoming the program's all-time kills leader with her ninth kill of the day against Lubbock Christian before posting 26 total on 35 errorless swings for a .743 hitting percentage, helping DBU claim a perfect 3-0 week.

For the week, Wells finished with 54 kills, the fifth-most in the country, with a 5.40 kills-per-set average that ranked seventh nationally. She also hit .467 across the three matches, the second-best mark of any attacker in the LSC.

Wells wins the LSC Offensive Player of the Week honor for the first time in her distinguished career. She is the first Patriot to garner the distinction since Shaylee Shore in 2024.

DBU finishes its road schedule for the season this week with trips to Oklahoma Christian and Cameron. The Patriots head to OC on Friday for a 6:00 p.m. match.
