DBU's Skylar Belanger has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the LSC on Monday. Belanger recorded her first career brace in Tuesday's LSC Regular Season Championship-clinching match against No. 23 Midwestern State.
 
With the Patriots needing a win or a tie to claim the outright LSC regular season title, the sophomore defender from Keller, Texas, played in 84 minutes, notching two important goals for DBU. Down 2-1 in the 25th minute, Belanger tied the game, knocking in a goal off an assist by Kylar Coffman. Then, with a 3-2 lead in the 86th, she recorded her first career multi-goal game, using a pass from Ashley Washburn to extend the margin to two and put the game out of reach of the Mustangs.
 
Belanger earns the LSC Offensive Player of the Week honor for the first time in her career. She is the third Patriot to garner the recognition this season, joining Leah Hurley and Ashley Washburn. Belanger was also tabbed as the LSC Defensive Player of the Week on time in 2025.
 
The Patriots return to the pitch on Thursday evening for the semifinals of the LSC Tournament. DBU will take on UT Tyler at Patriot Soccer Field at 5:00 p.m.
