The DBU Women's Soccer coaching staff has earned Lone Star Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors after guiding the Patriots to the 2026 LSC regular-season championship.

Head Coach Marcus Wood, Associate Head Coach Cory Marr, Graduate Assistant Coaches Austyn Applewhite and Taylor Garrett, Goalkeeper Coach Dan Heger, Director of Athletic Performance Dave Trevino, and Assistant Athletic Trainer Sarah Nielsen were recognized for their contributions in leading DBU to their seventh LSC regular-season title since joining the league in 2019.
The honor marks the fourth time Wood and his staff have earned the conference's top coaching distinction, joining previous selections in 2022, 2023, and 2025.

The Patriots have been dominant on both ends of the pitch throughout the 2026 campaign. DBU currently sits atop both the United Soccer Coaches National Poll and the NCAA Power Index while ranking among the nation's elite in several statistical categories. The Patriots lead NCAA Division II in scoring, averaging 3.59 goals per match, and also rank No. 1 nationally in total points (178), assists (56), and goal differential (+53).

No. 1 DBU returns to action Thursday when the Patriots host UT Tyler in the LSC Semifinals at Patriot Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
