DBU's Washburn Named LSC Player of the Year & Forward of the Year

DBU Women's Soccer senior forward Ashley Washburn was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and Forward of the Year at the annual LSC Women's Soccer Championship Banquet.

A senior from The Woodlands, Texas, Washburn led the conference in points (42) and assists (16) during the regular season, while her 13 goals ranked second in the LSC. She becomes the fifth player in program history to earn LSC Player of the Year honors, joining Maggie Scales (2019), Ashley Merrill (2020), Taylor Tufts (2023, 2024), and Parker Coe (2025).

Washburn enters this week's LSC Tournament on the verge of rewriting the DBU record book. She is just one point shy of breaking Danielle Presley's single-season program record for points and two assists away from surpassing Taylor Tufts for the school's single-season assist record.

The Patriots' senior striker has recorded three hat tricks during the 2026 campaign and registered at least one point in 13 of DBU's 17 matches, helping lead the Patriots to an LSC regular-season championship.

Washburn and the Patriots return to action Thursday when they host UT Tyler in the LSC Semifinals at Patriot Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
