DBU Places a League-High 12 Selections on All-Lone Star Conference Team

The DBU Women's Soccer team placed 12 players on the All-Lone Star Conference Team, as announced at the annual LSC Women's Soccer Championship Banquet. The Patriots' 12 selections are the most amongst the league's 15 teams.

Five Patriots earned All-LSC First Team honors, including seniors Ashley Washburn and Kylar Coffman, juniors Kenzi Tufts and Hannah Montoya, and sophomore Skylar Belanger.

Washburn, who also claimed LSC Player of the Year and Forward of the Year honors, led the conference in points (42) and assists (16), while her 13 goals ranked second in the league.

Coffman and Belanger also played key roles in powering a Patriot attack that currently ranks No. 1 nationally in scoring. Belanger ranked second in the LSC with eight assists, while her seven goals were the second-most on the team. Coffman added three goals and three assists during the regular season.

Tufts, the LSC Defensive Player of the Year, led the Patriots in minutes played (1,315) during the regular season and, alongside Montoya, anchored a defensive unit that ranked No. 15 nationally in goals-against average (0.47) while recording 12 shutouts on the year.

A pair of forwards were named to the All-LSC Second Team in Riley Olsen and McKenna Vela. Olsen, a sophomore from Flower Mound, Texas, was the Patriots' second-leading goal scorer during the regular season, registering eight goals while also contributing four assists. Vela, who entered the season as the LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, totaled seven goals and two assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Josie Juvera joined Olsen and Vela on the All-LSC Second Team following an impressive debut season between the posts. Juvera made 12 starts during her rookie campaign, compiling a 10-0-2 record while recording four shutouts and an .800 save percentage. Her 0.43 goals-against average ranks 14th nationally, underscoring her impact in anchoring one of the nation's top defensive units.

Four Patriots were also named to the LSC All-Freshman Team, including Kenzi Coffman, Leah Hurley, Josie Juvera, and Tyler Weaver. Coffman and Weaver each played integral roles in anchoring DBU's defensive back line, while Juvera made an immediate impact in goal during her freshman campaign. Hurley excelled on the offensive end, recording five goals and five assists in her first collegiate season.

No. 1 DBU returns to action Thursday when the Patriots host UT Tyler in the LSC Semifinals at Patriot Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
