LAST TIME OUT
The top-ranked DBU Women's Soccer team captured the Lone Star Conference regular-season championship last Tuesday night with a 4-2 road victory over No. 23 Midwestern State in Wichita Falls. The Patriots overcame two first-half deficits before sophomore Riley Olsen scored the go-ahead goal in the 65th minute, securing DBU's first lead of the night and ultimately the victory.
Midwestern State struck just 54 seconds into the match, but DBU responded in the 11th minute when Kylar Coffman finished a pass from Leah Hurley to even the score. After the Mustangs reclaimed the lead, Skylar Belanger headed home a cross from Coffman to send the teams into halftime tied at 2-2.

In the second half, Ashley Washburn set up Olsen for the game-winner in the 65th minute before assisting Belanger's second goal of the night with just over five minutes remaining to seal the 4-2 victory.

PATRIOT STORYLINES
No. 1 in the Polls: For the second consecutive year, DBU finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Patriots also hold the top spot in the NCAA Power Index for the third straight week.
Championship Standard: DBU captured its seventh Lone Star Conference regular-season title since joining the league in 2019. The Patriots own an 82-4-10 record versus LSC foes during that eight-year span.
Unbeaten Tradition: With a 15-0-2 record, DBU joins the 2019, 2020, and 2023 squads as one of four teams in program history to complete the regular season without a loss.
LSC Player of the Year: Ashley Washburn swept the LSC's top individual honors, earning both Player of the Year and Forward of the Year recognition. She led the conference in points (42) and assists (16) while ranking second in goals (13).
LSC Defensive Player of the Year: Kenzi Tufts was named the LSC Defensive Player of the Year. The junior center back leads DBU in minutes played (1,314) and anchors a defense that ranks 15th nationally in goals-against average while recording 12 shutouts.
All-LSC Recognition: DBU placed a league-high 12 players on the All-LSC Team, including five First Team selections: Skylar Belanger, Kylar Coffman, Hannah Montoya, Kenzi Tufts, and Ashley Washburn.
Coaching Honors: Head Coach Marcus Wood and his staff were named the LSC Coaching Staff of the Year. It marks the fourth time DBU has earned the conference's top coaching honor under Wood's leadership.
Unmatched Offense: The Patriots lead the nation in six offensive categories: points per game (10.47), scoring offense (3.59), assists (56), assists per game (3.29), total points (178), and goal differential (53).
Record-Breaking Pace: DBU is on pace to surpass its program record for scoring average, set at 3.3 goals per game during the 2025 season. The Patriots' 61 goals are also tied for the fourth-most in program history. The record was set by last year's squad who netted 73 goals.
Outscoring the Competition: The Patriots have outscored their opponents 61-8 this season and hold an average advantage of 20.9 shots per match.
Balanced Attack: Sixteen different Patriots have found the back of the net this season, including six players who have recorded at least five goals.
Defensive Wall: DBU ranks 15th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 0.47 goals per game while recording 12 shutouts through 17 matches.
Road Success: The Patriots have won 17 consecutive road games and have not suffered a road loss outside of Dallas in the past two years.
National Standout: Senior forward Ashley Washburn ranks second nationally in assists (16) and third in points (42) while ranking 17th in goals (13).
Record Within Reach: Washburn is one point away from breaking Danielle Presley's single-season program record of 42 points, set in 2013.
30-30 Club: Senior forward McKenna Vela needs one goal and four assists to become the first player in program history to reach 30 career goals and 30 career assists. Four more assists would also make her DBU's all-time career assists leader.
Sophomore Standouts: Riley Olsen and Skylar Belanger continue to rank among the LSC's offensive leaders. Olsen's eight goals rank fifth in the conference, while Belanger's eight assists are third-most in the league.
Freshman Phenom: Freshman goalkeeper Josie Juvera is 10-0-2 through her first 12 career starts and ranks No. 14 nationally in goals against average (0.43)
