THE RUNDOWN
No. 2 Women's Golf ran away with a 23-stroke victory at the Rattler Invitational at Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas. Ella Cheek claimed the individual title with a personal-best tournament score of 14 under par.

Finishing the second round on Tuesday due to darkness on Monday, the Patriots controlled the tournament the whole way. With a seven-stroke lead heading into Tuesday, DBU battled a course that surrendered only 12 below-par rounds to a field of 93 players over three rounds. Cheek carded two rounds in the 60s, starting with a bogey-free 65 in the first round and shooting a 67 in the final round en route to her first win of the spring and her second victory of the 2025-26 year. The junior from Sachse separated herself by 12 strokes from second place, Taylor Wilczek of No. 15 St. Mary's.

Contributing to the Patriots' 23-stroke team win, Sidney Roberston and Madison Ude tied for third at five-over. Robertson turned in a 68 in the first round on her way to the best result of her career. Starting with a 71 on Monday, Ude battled to her third top-three finish of 2025-26, birdieing hole nine in all three rounds. Gracie Grant (12-over) and Chloe Sirkin (16-over) wrapped up the team scoring for DBU, and Presley Bolado registered a total of 18-over as an individual competitor.

-9 - The Patriots played the par-five seventh to a score of nine-under in the tournament,
7 - Robertson compiled seven birdies in the first round.

DBU HEAD COACH KENNY TRAPP ON THE TEAM'S AND ELLA CHEEK'S PERFORMANCES
"Proud of the girls for bouncing back after struggling some last week, and Ella was extra great. When she can learn to stay out of her own way and play fearless golf, she is a very special player."
