THE RUNDOWN
Thursday night, DBU (17-6, 11-2 LSC) took down UT Tyler (10-9, 4-9 LSC) 90-79 at The Burg Center.
TJ Thomas led the Patriots in scoring with 17 points on a 50% shooting percentage, while five different DBU players finished in double figures.

Jaden Shelvin opened the scoring, going two-for-two at the free-throw line before UT Tyler responded with a layup, beginning an early back-and-forth exchange. Nearly four minutes into the contest,
Justin Haire made a layup that tied the game at nine, but UT Tyler's Hudson Anderson answered immediately with a layup. With 15:42 left in the first half,
TJ Thomas drilled his first three-pointer of the night, giving DBU a 12-11 lead that they wouldn't relinquish for the rest of the evening. The Patriots finished the first half with a +12 forced turnover differential, headlined by
AJ Borden's four steals. DBU took a 49-39 lead into the halftime break.

Borden led everyone on the floor in both steals and assists (four) in the first half. 13 of
TJ Thomas' 17 points came in the opening frame, where he also shared the team lead in rebounds with three.

A little over 90 seconds into the second half,
Xavion Brown threw down the first of DBU's four dunks in the last 20 minutes. The Patriots would build their lead to as high as 25 points, thanks in large part to a 17-0 run, where six different players contributed with points.
Trevor Frank led the group with eight second-half points as DBU closed on its 17th win of the campaign.
