THE RUNDOWN
DBU STUNT opened the 2026 season in emphatic fashion, rolling past Texas Woman's and Texas A&M–Kingsville on Friday at the Burg Center. With the pair of convincing victories, the Patriots improve to 2–0, marking the fifth consecutive season DBU has started the year with back-to-back wins.

GAME 1: DBU vs. TEXAS WOMAN'S
DBU: 23 | TWU: 9

Trailing going into the second quarter, the Patriots stayed competitive through the first half but really caught their stride after the halftime break. Needing a spark, the jump and tumble athletes brought life to the squad, working to secure a point with an exciting new jump and tumble routine. Claiming its first jump and tumble point of the year, DBU rode the momentum to a 14-point win against TWU.

CELINA BAADER ON THE TEAM'S TUMBLE EIGHT PERFORMANCE
"It was a really amazing experience to see all of our hard work and long practice hours finally be put together and played within a game, especially in tumble eight. The girls in that routine have spent many hours working in the gym perfecting that routine, and it was amazing to witness them make history by winning our first tumble eight point of the season!"

GAME 2: DBU vs. TEXAS A&M-KINGSVILLE
DBU: 25 | TAMUK: 3
The Patriots kept the rhythm from their season opener, jumping to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter. With eyes locked on an authoritative win, DBU seemingly never faltered, building on each subsequent success, including a superb jump and tumble performance in the third quarter to win both points. Another solid performance in the fourth quarter finished off the 25-3 triumph over the Javelinas.

BARB BLACKMON ON THE TEAM'S OUTLOOK AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF THE SEASON
"Getting the opportunity to take the mat twice today and make so many improvements in our routines was such a special experience. This team comes together and puts all we have on the mat each time we step out. I'm excited to see our growth throughout the season and make history with this program."
