No. 2 Patriots Win Lynn Invite, Cheek Tops Individual Leaderboard

| By:
THE RUNDOWN
Battling windy and rainy conditions, No. 2 DBU wrapped up the regular season in style, surging to a 15-stroke victory at the Lynn Invite at Boca Woods. Ella Cheek finished in a three-way tie for first place for her second win of the spring and third of the 2025-26 season.

Trailing No. 9 Nova Southeastern by two strokes after the first day at Boca Woods Country Club, the Patriots shot a team score of even par in the final round to separate themselves from the field and finish at 16-over par. Cheek led the field essentially the entire tournament, holding on to the top spot despite a 79 in the final round for a total score of three-over. Gracie Grant shot her second straight even-par 72 in the third round to come just one stroke shy of sharing the individual title, taking solo fourth at four-over. Chloe Sirkin improved her score by one stroke each round, birdieing two of her last four holes for a final-round 73 and a share of sixth place at six-over. Madison Ude jumped 22 slots in the third round, carding a team-best 70 in the final round to seize a tie for 18th at 10-over, and Sidney Roberston completed an all-top-25 showing for the Patriots, with her best score of the event, a 73, to move 10 spots for a tie for 24th.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- DBU topped a field that included 12 of the top 25 teams in Division II and the top team in the NAIA, Keiser.
- The Patriots' final-round even-par score was the lowest team round of the tournament.
- DBU led the field in par-four scoring (4.20) and par-five scoring (4.90). The Patriots were also third in par-three scoring (3.18).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
4.10 - Ella Cheek's 4.10 scoring average on par fours was tied for the best of any player in the field.
7 - The Patriots' seven wins over the fall and spring are the most tournaments DBU has won entering the postseason since the 2018-19 year, when they won eight events before the conference tournament.
97 - Head Coach Kenny Trapp now has 97 career wins and is only 3 away from becoming the first coach in the history of Division II women's golf to reach 100 career victories.

DBU HEAD COACH KENNY TRAPP ON FINISHING THE REGULAR SEASON AND CHEEK'S WIN
"Great to finish the regular season on a high note and do the little things better. I thought we played extremely well this week, with all the wind and some rain. Everyone stepped up this week and contributed, which is good to see heading into a playoff run, and Ella winning again, even without her best day, just shows how great she really is."

UP NEXT
With the Lone Star Conference Championships next on the calendar, the Patriots prepare for the postseason, which begins in just under three weeks. DBU will tee off at WinStar Golf Club in Thackerville, Oklahoma, on April 24-26.
