DBU Earns No. 1 Seed, Hosting Rights for South Central Regional

| By:
For the second straight season, DBU will serve as the host site for the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championship, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday night. The Patriots earn the top seed in the region after capturing both the Lone Star Conference regular season and tournament championships.

The South Central Regional begins on Saturday, March 14, at the Burg Center, featuring an LSC-heavy eight-team bracket. Six of the eight squads in the regional are from the LSC, including No. 1 seed DBU, No. 2 seed Eastern New Mexico, No. 3 seed Lubbock Christian, No. 4 seed Western New Mexico, No. 5 seed St. Edward's, and No. 7 seed St. Mary's. The two teams representing the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference are No. 6 seed Black Hills State and No. 8 seed Colorado Mesa.

In the quarterfinals on Saturday, March 14, top-seed DBU will square off against Colorado Mesa in a rematch of a one-point affair back on November 14, and the winner will face the winner of Western New Mexico and St. Edward's. In the other half of the bracket, second-seed Eastern New Mexico will battle St. Mary's and duel the victor of Lubbock Christian versus Black Hills State.

The semifinals will be played on Sunday, March 15, and the championship game of the regional is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17. Specific game times will be announced once they are available.

The winner of the South Central Regional will advance to the Elite Eight in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
