THE RUNDOWN
Tuesday night, DBU (23-18, 12-6 CUSA) fell to TCU (25-15, 10-8 Big 12) by a score of 6-5Â after 10 innings of play.
Brooks Sartain led the offensive charge for the Patriots, leading the team with three hits and three RBI. Â

After TCU's Nolan Johnson tossed a scoreless top of the first, the Horned Frogs opened the scoring in the bottom half on a Chase Brunson RBI single.

Cooper Neville led off the top of the second with a single to right, and would later come around to score on a single from
Hogan Nelson. As the product of a fielding error in right field, Nelson would wind up on third base and would score on a
Brooks Sartain sacrifice bunt to give DBU a 2-1 lead.

Tate Hess preserved the lead with a one-two-three frame in the bottom of the second, but TCU would knot the score at two in the third as Cole Cramer punched a double down the first base line. With two outs,
Aiden VanDeHatert would get Noah Franco to ground out with runners on the corners to keep the score tied after three innings of play.

The Horned Frogs would take a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double from Brunson, but the Patriots would respond in the sixth with a pair of RBI knocks from
Brooks Sartain and
Luke Pettitte.
Mac Rose punched a one-out triple to start the sixth inning rally. DBU led 4-3 going into the bottom of the sixth.

TCU's Nolan Traeger tied the game at four with a run-scoring base hit up the middle, before
Armani Knipper entered the game with one out and two runners on. The score would remain at 4-4, as Knipper struck out the first two hitters he faced.

In the top of the eighth,
Brooks Sartain gave the Patriots a 5-4 lead with his first home run of the season, but the Horned Frogs would once again tie it in the bottom half after stringing a walk and two base hits together. With one out in the inning,
Ryan Martin would turn a clutch double play by catching a line drive off the bat of Colton Griffin, and firing a dart to
Ben Tryon at first base to back pick Rob Liddington.

The game would reach extra innings with the score knotted at five, after Tanner Sagouspe and
Athan Kroll traded zeros in the ninth.

DBU would go down in order in the 10th before Liddington lined a walk-off RBI single down the left field line to end the game.
