THE RUNDOWN
Sunday afternoon, DBU (25-19, 14-7 CUSA) fell to Florida International (14-29, 6-15 CUSA) by a score of 13-10. The Patriots came just short of their second CUSA sweep of the season, and now sit at fourth place in the CUSA standings, with three weekends remaining in the regular season.

FIU's Jeremy Urena and
Jerrod Jenkins tossed a scoreless first inning before the Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead, scratching two across in the second and one in the third.
Dylan Schlaegel took a chunk out of the deficit with a two-run homer in the top of the fifth on the first pitch he saw, but the Panthers would respond in the bottom half by scoring on a wild pitch.

Trailing 4-2,
Max Luzarraga tossed a scoreless bottom of the sixth before the Patriots rattled off a huge inning in the seventh: With the bases loaded and nobody out,
Cooper Neville scored on a wild pitch,
Brooks Sartain punched a two-run single up the middle, and
Jake Bennett swatted his third home run of the weekend, making the score 7-4 in favor of DBU.

Luzarraga's outing would end after tossing another scoreless frame in the seventh.

In the bottom of the eighth, FIU would scratch across nine runs as three different Patriot arms recorded one out each in the inning.

Trailing 13-7 in the ninth,
Keaton Grady ripped a pinch-hit RBI double to left before scoring on
Chayton Krauss' 13th home run of the season. Three runs would be all that the offense could muster in the ninth, as the Patriots dropped the series finale 13-10.
