THE RUNDOWN
Monday night, DBU (18-15, 8-4 CUSA) fell to Oklahoma (22-10, 5-7 SEC) by a score of 9-3, as the Sooners completed a sweep of the two-game season series.
Michael Benzor,
Jerrod Jenkins, and
Armani Knipper delivered four and two-thirds scoreless innings out of the bullpen, giving the Patriots something to build on heading into another CUSA series next weekend.

The Sooners drew first blood in the top of the first, bringing home one run on a Brendan Brock RBI single to right field, and added to their lead with a five-spot in the top of the third. Brock and Nolan Stevens each homered, and Drew Dickerson drove in two with a single up the middle. After three innings, OU led 6-0.

The Oklahoma bats went back to work in the fifth, bringing in three more runs. Jason Walk contributed a two-run double, and Jaxon Willits lofted a sacrifice fly to left field, making it a 9-0 ballgame.

After recording the final two outs in the fifth,
Michael Benzor went out for a full inning of work in the sixth and delivered a three-up, three-down frame. In the seventh,
Jerrod Jenkins would take the ball and copy his teammate, delivering a one-two-three inning.

Trailing by nine runs,
Ryan Martin and
Jude Hall reached base in the bottom of the seventh via walks, before
Cooper Neville lifted his sixth home run of the season over the right field wall, making the score 9-3.

That score would hold until the final out was recorded, as Jenkins, OU's Mason Bixby, and
Armani Knipper traded zeros in the eighth and ninth innings.
