Kodie Kolden Recruiting Coordinator

Kodie Kolden Promoted to Recruiting Coordinator of DBU Baseball

| By:
DBU Baseball has named Kodie Kolden as the program's Recruiting Coordinator, the program announced Tuesday. In his new role, Kolden will coordinate the DBU coaching staff's national recruiting efforts.

"From the day Kodie Kolden walked on campus as a player, and now as a coach, he has done nothing but impress and exceed expectations," said Head Coach Dan Heefner. "He is the ultimate professional. His work ethic, attention to detail, and work capacity are second to none."

Entering his fourth year on the Patriots' coaching staff, Kolden has been a driving force behind some of the most successful seasons in program history. He joined the staff in the fall of 2023 as the Director of Player Development and Infield Coordinator, and one year later, he was promoted to Assistant Coach and has helped lead DBU to two NCAA Regional appearances, a Conference USA Regular Season Championship in 2025, and the 2024 CUSA Tournament title.

"Kodie has an elite baseball mind," continued Heefner. "He does an amazing job with our infielders, baserunners, and offense. In a very short time, he has also proven himself to be equally as effective as a recruiter. We are thrilled to have Kodie coordinating our staff's recruiting efforts. We know he will leave no stone unturned to help find elite players who fit the culture and mission of DBU Baseball."

Working primarily with the team's infielders, Kolden has helped develop one of the nation's elite defensive units. In each of his three seasons working with the Patriot infield, DBU has recorded the top three fielding percentage marks in program history, including a .982 clip in 2024 that set the program record and ranked fourth in the country and a .981 mark in 2026 that stands second all-time and ranked 17th nationally. His influence has extended to the offensive side of the field as well, as Kolden has been on staff for two of the most powerful lineups in DBU's storied history, including last year's squad that tied the program record and ranked seventh in the nation with 119 home runs.

Before joining the coaching staff, Kolden played five seasons of college baseball, capping his career as DBU's starting third baseman in 2023. That season, he led the winningest team in program history with a .353 batting average, stole 21 bases, and committed just five errors at the hot corner. In the Stillwater Regional, he hit .471 with two home runs, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
