Box Score THE RUNDOWN
DBU (2-1-1) battled Colorado Christian (1-2-2) to a tie on Thursday at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood, Colorado. In the closing minutes of the match, James Webb matched the Cougars' goal to complete the Patriots' first draw of the season.

The opening minutes unfolded as a back-and-forth stalemate between the two squads. After the Cougars registered a shot in the second minute, neither team generated another attempt until Colorado Christian earned the first corner kick of the match in the 10th minute. DBU was held without a shot until the 16th minute, when Liam sent an attempt over the Cougars' frame.

The offensive tempo remained quiet for the next 12 minutes before CCU broke through the Patriots' defense in the 29th minute. Benjamin Brown and Antonio Lugo combined to work their way through the DBU back line in transition, with Lugo finishing the sequence to give the Cougars the first goal of the match. CCU consistently pushed into the DBU half for the rest of the first frame, but the Patriot defense held the score at 1-0 at the half.

The DBU offense played aggressively in the beginning minutes of the second half, producing two shots within seven minutes. Cason Berg nearly came up with an equalizing goal in the 53rd minute, but CCU goalkeeper Campbell Wolfgram deflected the attempt. The Cougars countered with a pair of shot attempts in the 54th minute and in the 70th, respectively, but two diving saves by Hugo Herrera held CCU to its singular tally.

With less than 10 minutes on the clock, the Patriots finally broke through the Cougar defense. Trace Binyon centered the ball to James Webb, who worked his way through traffic in the CCU box and knocked a shot to the bottom right portion of the goal for the equalizing goal and the 1-1 final score.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- James Webb's goal in the 81st minute was his first as a Patriot.
- Daniel Villagomez's assist to Webb was his first assist as a Patriot, delivering the pass to his fellow transfer teammate from Hardin-Simmons.

4 - The Patriots committed only four fouls, their smallest figure in the young season.
9 - The Patriot defense held CCU to nine shots, marking the third time in DBU's first four matches holding its opponent to fewer than 10 attempts.
