Lauren Wulff, a Freshman DBU Patriot Cheerleader, is the Athlete Spotlight for the month of July.  Lauren has excelled in serving as one of the leaders on the team although she is only a Freshman.  She is always positive, upbeat, and encouraging to the other team members and you will never see her without a smile.  Her dedication and passion for cheerleading allows her to continue to improve in every aspect of the sport.

Not only are Lauren's athletic abilities being rewarded by Dallas Baptist University, but the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders Association has chosen her to be a part of their summer 2009 camp staff. Lauren is an exceptional representative for DBU and will serve as a great representative for FCC with her outgoing personality coupled with strong leadership and a humble spirit.   Off the court, Lauren has shown her academic success this year, as she recently received the President's Academic Excellence Award at the 2009 Athletic Banquet, which is an award for all athletes who receive a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.  She also received the Timothy Award at the banquet for her outstanding efforts and hard work as part of the 2008-2009 Cheerleading Team.

Lauren will continue her role as part of the Patriot Cheerleading Team for the 2009-2010 Patriot Cheerleading Team. 

"Lauren has been a great addition to the cheer team this year.  She is dependable, hardworking, self-motivated, and always gives 110%.  I am excited to see how she develops her leadership skills throughout this next year," Head Coach Skyla Alvarado said.
