Biography
Sophomore Heather Wilbur, from
Georgetown, Texas , is the Athlete Spotlight for the month of December. Wilbur has been the number one Lady Patriot Golfer on the squad for her first two seasons.
As a freshman, Wilbur led the team in just about every tournament, including being named First Team All-Conference and Co-Freshman of the Year for the Heartland Conference.
During her freshman campaign, Wilbur averaged a 79.94 per round, had a team best 73 for lowest round, and was second to only Junior Jamie Shirley in low total round score with a 151.
Wilbur has picked up this year right where she left off at the end of her freshman year. In her final tournament of the fall season, Wilbur finished in 11th place after shooting a team low 150. She also helped lead the team to shoot a school record low round and gain national recognition during the fall campaign. The Lady Patriots for the first time in school history received eight votes for the top 25 National Coaches Poll.
Head Coach Kenny Trapp stated, "Heather is the kind of girl that you dream about having in your program. She is a great leader for this program on and off the course. Besides being a great golfer she is truly a godly woman and I am so glad that God placed her here at DBU."
