2007 graduate of Naaman Forest High School in Garland… Played for Head Coach Heath Andrews… Named MVP of District 11-5A during both junior and senior year… Dallas Morning News Utility Player of the Year in 2006… Hit .409 with a 0.75 ERA during junior year… Batted .475 with a 1.16 ERA during senior year… 2nd Team All-State selection in 2007… Participated in the DFW East/West All-Star Game in 2007.

Collegiate Summer Baseball
Spent 2008 with the Beltway BlueCaps of the Clark Griffith League… Batted .275… Drafted for the NBC World Series by the Vienna Senators of the CGL…. Played in the Cape Cod League in 2009 with the Hyannis Mets... Tied for the team lead in saves.

2008 Patriots
Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American… 2nd Team All-Independent… Southwest Diamond Classic All-Tournament Team… Second on the team in appearances (23), second in saves (3) and tops in ERA (2.56) among those who qualified… First collegiate appearance came on Opening Day against Missouri State… First career strikeout came against second batter he faced… Cemented himself as the Patriots late inning reliever with 1.1 innings of perfect baseball against TCU on February 26… Picked up first collegiate save against Nevada-Reno on February 28 with 3.1 innings, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts in a 7-4 DBU victory… Went 3 innings against #6 Rice on March 5 giving up 1 run and striking out 3 in a 7-6 DBU victory in Frisco… Game was won in the 12th inning on a Drew Pirtle walk-off homerun to right… First collegiate victory came against McNeese on March 8 when he threw 1.2 innings allowing no runs on 3 hits in a 10-8 Patriot win… Relieved Chris McMullen in the 7th inning of a Patriot 19-6 win over Oral Roberts… Gave up 1 hit in an inning and two thirds… Picked up second victory of the season in a 3-2 win over #12 Rice in Houston on April 2… Collected third win of the season against Northern Colorado at home on April 5 in a 15-10 game… Threw three innings against the Golden Bears allowing only one hit… Fourth win came three days later in a 2-1 Patriot victory over Louisiana-Monroe… Garnered fifth win of the season against Baylor at home after throwing 3.1 innings, striking out four… Quite possibly his biggest outing of the year came against Memphis on April 19… With the Patriots vying for a postseason spot, Haney entered a tie game in the 9th with a man on second and one out and struck out 4 of the 5 batters he faced to preserve a Patriot 6-4 victory in 10 innings… Made one appearance in the NCAA Regional Tournament, throwing 1.1 inning against Houston.

2009 Patriots
As a two-way player, appeared in 13 games (12 starts) as a position player and had 23 appearances on the mound (most on the team)… Led the team with 7 saves… Picked up his first save of the year on Opening Day after throwing 2.2 innings to close out the win over Binghamton… Started at catcher in Game 3 of the Binghamton series and went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored… Picked up the win in relief against Siena on February 26… Had three RBI in the Game 3 win over Siena… Started as the DH and came in to relieve against Oakland on March 6… Hit his first collegiate homerun in the 3rd inning and recorded the win in relief after a Trevor Head walk-off homerun… Hit his second homerun of the year and added two sacrifice flies for a 4 RBI day in Game 3 of the Oakland series… Second save of the year came against Louisiana Monroe at home on March 17 after twirling 1.1 innings of no-hit baseball… Threw an inning of perfect baseball against Texas striking out one… Save number three was recorded in a 14-12 win over Louisiana Tech at home… Picked up two hits, a double, and 1 RBI as well as closed out the game on the mound in Game 3 of the Louisiana Tech series… Saved a 4-1 win over Sam Houston after striking out two of the three hitters he faced… Went 1-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Game 1 against Houston Baptist… Saved the 5-4 win over Oral Roberts at home… Went 2-4 with two doubles and an RBI on the road against UT-San Antonio… Hurled three innings of scoreless baseball in relief of Victor Black to win Game 1 of the Utah Valley series in Orem… Won the April 27 game against Stephen F. Austin after throwing 2.1 innings striking out three… Picked up a three inning save against Utah Valley at home on May 8 allowing no baserunners with 4 strikeouts… Threw two innings of perfect baseball in relief against TCU at home… Final save of the year was a 3+ inning save against Jacksonville in Game 2 of the series in Florida.
