2008 graduate of Summit High School in Mansfield, Texas… Played for Head Coach Art Senato… Named 1st Team All-District as a pitcher in 2008… Also hit .410 with 2 homeruns and 15 doubles during senior campaign… Played summer baseball for Tommy Hernandez and the Dallas Tigers.

2009 Patriots
All-Ping! Baseball Freshman Third Team... Opening day starter at third base… Homered in first collegiate at-bat to pick up first hit, first extra base hit, first RBI, and first run scored of his career… Walked before picking up second hit, a single, in his second at-bat… Singled in his first at-bat of Game 2 to begin career 3 for 3… Picked up three more hits and an RBI in the last game of the Binghamton series… First collegiate appearance on the mound came against TCU on February 24… Went one inning and struck out one… Drove in what turned out to be the game-winning run in the 7th inning of a 10-9 victory over Siena on February 26… Collected two more hits in each of the next two games against Siena… Doubled, singled and drove in a run against Oakland in the second game of the series… Went 5 for 5 with three runs scored against Oakland on March 7… Started at DH against Central Arkansas at home and collected two hits before throwing a perfect eighth inning with two strikeouts… Struck out two in two innings against Louisiana Monroe on March 17… Closed out the 15-10 Patriot win over Louisiana Tech with two innings of perfect baseball… Threw a perfect eighth inning against Sam Houston at home in a 4-1 Patriot win… Went 4 for 5 with a double and a solo homerun against Houston Baptist on April 4… Closed out a 16-3 win over Baylor with three strikeouts in the 9th… First collegiate save came against Stephen F. Austin after giving up no runs in two innings of the Patriot 12-8 victory… Closed out a 6-2 win over Sam Houston in Huntsville… Second save came against Texas A&M with a scoreless ninth inning on May 1 as the Patriots hung on, 11-10… First collegiate win on the mound came on a Ryan Enos walk-off homerun in the ninth against Utah Valley on May 7… Picked up another save two days later against Utah Valley… Fourth and final save came against UTSA in a 15-8 Patriot win... Tied with fellow freshman, Michael Smith, for second-most appearances on the staff (21).
