Chris Weeldreyer serves as DBU's Assistant Director of Athletics for Alumni Relations. Previously, Weeldreyer spent 17 years leading DBU Sports Medicine as the Director of Sports Medicine & Head Athletic Trainer. Weeldreyer is a 2004 DBU graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and served on the Sports Medicine staff for three years as a student assistant.

In 2006, he received a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.  While at Tech, Weeldreyer gained sports medicine experience working with high schools, NAIA and NCAA Division I collegiate athletics, and by serving an internship in minor league baseball.  Weeldreyer is an active member in National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association (SWATA) and the Texas State Athletic Training Association (TSATA).  He also has certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Functional Movement Screen Certified (FMSC), and is a certified L-1 Dry Needling provider through Structure & Function.

Weeldreyer is entrusted with the day-to-day operations of the athletic training rooms, the care and prevention of athletic injuries, and the supervision of the Sports Medicine staff.

Weeldreyer and his wife, Melissa, and son Noah, live in Midlothian, Texas, and attend Creekwood Church in Mansfield.
