Devlin Granberg is in his first season as DBU Baseball’s Director of Hitting Development. A consensus All-American for the Patriots in 2018, Granberg was a sixth-round pick of the Boston Red Sox following the 2018 season and spent four years in the Red Sox minor league system.

Regarded as one of the top hitters in DBU Baseball history, Granberg played two seasons with the Patriots from 2017-2018, helping guide DBU to the NCAA postseason each year. In both seasons with the Patriots, Granberg won the batting crown in the Missouri Valley Conference, hitting .359 as a junior in 2017 and .443 his senior season. He finished his career with the top batting average in program history after hitting .408 over the course of two years at DBU.

In 2018, Granberg set single-season program records for batting average (.443) and hits (112).  His 112 hits were the most in the nation that season, and his .443 average was the second highest in all of college baseball.  Granberg went on to lead DBU to the finals of the 2018 Fayetteville Regional where was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Following the 2018 season, Granberg was named the Missouri Valley Conference Joe Carter Player of the Year and received the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger of the Year Award. He was also named a First Team All-American by five publications and was honored as the CoSIDA Academic All-American Player of the Year.

Following his collegiate career, Granberg spent four seasons of professional baseball in the Red Sox farm system, reaching the Triple-A level in 2022. He was also named to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game in 2019.

Granberg graduated from DBU with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology. Devlin lives in Irving, Texas, and attends Watermark Community Church.
