Tyler Hancock enters his first season on the DBU Baseball coaching staff and serves as the team’s Volunteer Assistant Coach.  Prior to joining the Patriots, Hancock spend the past three seasons at SIU Edwardsville.  He also had a coaching stint at Southern Illinois from 2015-2016 and Cowley County Community College in 2014.

A native of Washington, Oklahoma, Hancock played at Cowley from 2009-2010.  As a freshman, he hit .311 for a Cowley team that reached the Junior College World Series.  Following his freshman campaign, he hit .370 as a sophomore and was named to the Kansas Jayhawk All-Star Game. 

As a junior at Central Oklahoma, Hancock hit .336 and posted a .435 slugging percentage.  He finished his college playing career at Newman University, where he earned his degree in Sport Communication.

Tyler, his wife Natalie, and their son Tucker live in Grand Prairie, Texas.
