Finished the year second on the staff with 26 appearances, 23 coming in relief … Made the transition from the bullpen to become a key part of the Patriots’ starting pitching rotation late in the season … Posted the staff’s third best ERA at 2.96 … Earned four saves as the team’s closer early in the season … Struck out 49 and walked just 16 in 54.2 innings of work … Pieced together a stretch of 22.1 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run that began on April 27, 2013, and extended to March 4, 2014 … Earned his first save of the year after throwing one scoreless inning against Grambling State on February 18 … Shutout UT-San Antonio for 4.2 innings, walking just one, while striking out a career-high nine in an extra-inning win on February 25 … Notched his second save of the year against Oral Roberts on March 8 … Threw a scoreless frame at Missouri State to earn his third save on March 15 … Tossed three scoreless innings on March 25 at Stephen F. Ranked fifth on the staff with 20 appearances, 19 coming in relief … Posted a team-best 3.41 ERA and tied for the team lead with four saves … Tossed a scoreless inning and struck out one in his collegiate debut versus Creighton on February 16 … Made his lone start of the year against Texas Southern on March 6 and allowed three runs in one inning of work … Shutout Texas Tech in 3.1 innings of relief, striking out three, in a 10-9 win on April 9 … Allowed one run and did not allow a hit, while racking up four strikeouts in 3.1 innings versus Baylor on April 23 … Earned the first save of his college career in a three inning shutout performance on April 27 against UT-San Antonio … Completed the save opportunity in a 2-0 shutout win over No. 10 Oklahoma by tossing two shutout innings and striking out a pair on April 30 … Picked up his third straight save in as many outings after recording the final two outs at UT-Arlington on May 5 … Collected his fourth save of the year and second versus Oklahoma after throwing two scoreless frames on May 14 … Tossed three innings without surrendering a run at Texas State on May 16 … Did not allow a run in six straight appearances from April 27-May 16.
