Returned from injury to make 11 appearances (10 starts) and posted a 4-0 record with a team-best 2.25 ERA … Held opponents to a .181 batting average in 36.0 innings of work … VS. TOP 25 OPPONENTS: Worked 4.0 scoreless innings and struck out four batters versus No. 19 Indiana State (4/25) … VS. MVC OPPONENTS: Went 3-0 in six starts with a 2.21 ERA ... Earned his first win of the year after working 2.0 scoreless frames against Valparaiso (4/3) … Shutout Evansville (5/2) and struck out four in 3.0 innings to notch his second win …Threw 5.0 shutout innings and surrendered just one hit in a win over Illinois State (5/9) … Held Southern Illinois (5/22) scoreless and allowed just two hits in 5.0 innings of work … VS. Made four appearances, including four starts … Began the season as the team’s No. 2 starter in the weekend rotation before being lost to the season to injury after his start on March 9 … Struck out 21 batters in 17.0 innings … VS. NON-CONFERENCE: Worked 4.1 innings and allowed one run while striking out a season-high seven in a win over Kent State (2/16) … Surrendered just one run over a season-high 6.0 innings and matched a season-high in strikeouts (7) versus Houston Baptist (3/1).
 
2018 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
Named a Freshman All-American by both Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game … Also garnered Second Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors … Made 14 appearances, including 12 starts and went 7-3 with a 3.28 ERA … His seven wins were tied for the fourth most in the MVC … Ranked third on the team in ERA … Allowed just four walks while striking out 43 batters in 57.2 innings … Began his career by not allowing a walk in his first 34.1 innings of work … VS. MVC OPPONENTS: Notched his fourth win of the year after shutting out Evansville (5/6) for 6.0 innings while surrendering just one hit … Kept Bradley (5/13) scoreless for 5.0 innings and allowed just one hit to pick up the win … VS. Pitched for the Eau Claire Express in the Northwoods League in 2018 … Went 4-2 with a 3.27 ERA and issued just eight walks in 66 innings.

PERSONAL
Born on October 26, 1997 … Parents are Cal and Christi Eldred … His father, Cal Eldred, was a first round draft pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in 1989 and pitched in the majors with three different teams including the Milwaukee Brewers (9), St. Louis Cardinals (3), and Chicago White Sox (2) … Cal is in his fourth season as the pitching coach for the Kansas City Royals … His older brother, C.J. Eldred, was a pitcher at the University of Iowa and currently pitches in the Kansas City Royals’ organization … Completed his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and is currently pursuing a Masters in Sports Management … Favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 16:9.
