Greg Hawkins is entering his third season serving as an assistant coach for the DBU Men’s basketball program. During his first two years on the Patriots' coaching staff, DBU has compiled a 49-17 record, won one Heartland Conference Championship, one Heartland Conference Tournament Championship, and advanced to the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament in back-to-back years.
Hawkins serves as the academic coordinator while also assisting with scouting, community relations, logistics, player development, administrative management, and game day promotions.
Prior to his arrival at DBU, Hawkins served in the United States Navy. “I thoroughly enjoyed the people I served alongside and the challenges we faced together. My time in the service forged a better me, raised my standard of excellence, and showed me what a well-oiled team is capable of accomplishing when its’ members put the mission first.”
Hawkins holds Master degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary (Christian Education, 2019) and Northern Arizona University (Educational Leadership, 2008). His undergraduate degree is from Arizona State University.
Greg, his wife Keri and daughter Adeline reside in Dallas.
