Nathan Ghavidel joined the Dallas Baptist University men’s basketball staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach ahead of the 2025–26 season.
Ghavidel comes to DBU after two seasons on the University of St. Thomas (Houston) men’s basketball staff under Head Coach Anthony Medina, where he helped guide the Celts to a 26–3 record, capturing both the 2025 SCAC regular season and conference tournament championships as the program’s Assistant Coach.
Ghavidel, a former Celt basketball player, joins Coach Medina’s staff after earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business from St. Thomas in May of 2023.
Prior to his collegiate coaching career, Ghavidel was the Head Boys Basketball Coach for the junior varsity and sixth-grade programs and an Assistant Coach for the varsity program at Bracken Christian School. He has also coached at the AAU level throughout Texas, with experience in the Hill Country, San Antonio, and Houston regions.
As a player for the Celts, Ghavidel was a member of the SCAC regular-season championship team in 2020, making several starts for the team over the season. He played his high school career for the highly regarded Stan Leech and the Boerne Champion Chargers from 2015-2019. Ghavidel is the all-time leading scorer for the boys basketball program at Champion High School in his hometown of Boerne, Texas.
Ghavidel is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Sport Management from DBU.
