Shannon Lilly enters his third year as a Graduate Student Assistant for the DBU Men’s Basketball team.  In each of his first two seasons on the Patriots' coaching staff, Lilly has been a part of back-to-back Heartland Conference regular-season titles as well as a conference tournament title in 2018.  Lilly also had the honor of winning the Heartland Conference Tournament championship his senior year at DBU.

Lilly played at DBU for two seasons and helped lead the Patriots to their first-ever Heartland Conference Tournament title and a trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2016.  As a senior, Lilly earned All-Heartland Conference Honorable Mention honors and finished the year ranked No. 7 in the nation in assist-turnover ratio.
 
As a junior, Lilly guided DBU to the NCCAA National Championship game, was tabbed to the NCCAA National Championship All-Tournament Team, and was a First Team All-Central Region selection.  Lilly also etched his name in the school record books that year when he tie a school record for the most assists in a single-game, as he dished out 11 assists versus Rogers State University.
 
Prior to arriving at Dallas Baptist University for his junior year, Lilly played his first two collegiate seasons from 2012-2014 at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.  During his time at Navarro, Lilly was a team captain, an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection, and was recognized as an Academic All-Conference award winner.
 
As a prep standout at Justin F. Kimball High School in Dallas, Texas, from 2009-2012, Lilly won two Class 4A State Championship trophies and made three appearances in the title game at the University of Texas at Austin.  He also achieved back to back MVP awards in the championship games his junior and senior seasons.  As a senior in the championship game versus Houston Yates, Lilly poured in 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including five 3-pointers.  In his junior year against La Marque in the title game, he scored 23 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range.
 
Lilly earned his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Dallas Baptist University and is currently pursuing a Master's in Sports Management at DBU.   He attends Full Gospel Holy Temple Church in Lancaster.
