Ray Kizzie was named the Head Hockey Coach at Dallas Baptist University in August 2026, returning to his alma mater to lead the Patriots into the next chapter of the program.
A Patriot alum, Kizzie was part of DBU Hockey during its formative years, serving as team captain for three of his four seasons before graduating in 2015 with a degree in Sports Management.
Since his time on the ice at DBU, Kizzie has built a diverse coaching career spanning both the men’s and women’s game. His experience includes serving as an assistant coach at DBU, coaching junior hockey, leading club programs throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and working with USA Hockey Developmental Camps in 2024 and 2025. Most recently, he served as the head coach of the Salem State University women’s hockey team.
Throughout his career, Kizzie has developed a thoughtful and competitive approach to recruiting, player development, and building strong team culture. He is committed not only to helping student-athletes grow as players, but also to developing them as leaders, teammates, and people.
Now back at his alma mater, Kizzie brings his coaching experience, passion for the game, and deep connection to DBU full circle. His vision for the program, combined with his commitment to developing student-athletes and building a strong team culture, provides a strong foundation for the future of Patriot Hockey.
