Named a semifinalist for the Gregg Olson Breakout Player of the Year Award … Named to the NCBWA Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List … Set a school record with a 0.64 ERA, previous record (0.81 ERA) had been held by Chris Hatcher since 1976 … Also established a new program record holding opponents to a .176 batting average, previous record was set by Stuart Pudenz in 2012 (.191) … Posted an 8-1 record with a team-best nine saves … Nine saves ranked as the third most in DBU history since the program joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 2004 … Led the pitching staff with 28 appearances … Struck out 70 batters in 42.1 innings and set a new school record averaging 14.96 strikeouts per nine innings … After surrendering a run in his first relief outing on February 26 versus Mississippi Valley State, put together a stretch of 11 straight appearances (13.0 innings) without allowing a run … Picked up his first win of the year by striking out the side in the ninth versus Pennsylvania on February 28 … Worked two scoreless innings and struck out four to notch his second win of the year against Pennsylvania on March 1 … Improved to 3-0 by tossing two scoreless frames versus Oral Roberts on March 7 … Earned his first career save on March 14 at Missouri State by throwing a scoreless ninth to preserve a 1-0 win … Picked up his second save of the year the following day against Missouri State … Helped DBU to a 9-7 win over Bradley and earned his third save by throwing 2.1 scoreless innings … Struck out six and held Illinois State scoreless in 2.1 innings of relief to record his fourth save of the year on April 5 … Made it back-to-back outings in which he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings and earned his fifth save in a 6-3 win at Baylor on April 12 … Fired 1.2 of shutout baseball to pick up his fourth win and help DBU to a 7-6 come-from-behind win over Stephen F. Austin on April 22 … Recorded his sixth save of the year on April 26 at Indiana State … Ran his record to 5-0 on the season in a 1-0 win over Missouri State on May 2 … Notched his seventh save of the year on the following day against Missouri State, striking out two in 1.1 innings of work … Went 2.2 innings without allowing a run and struck out five at Wichita State on May 11 to pick up his eighth save … Worked two scoreless innings against Southern Illinois to improve to 6-0 on the season … Earned the win in the Patriots’ first round game of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament against Missouri State on May 20 … Picked up his ninth save of the year by throwing 2.2 innings of scoreless relief and striking out four against Bradley in the MVC Tournament on May 21 … Improved to 8-0 by closing out Illinois State in the ninth inning of the MVC Tournament Championship Game on May 24 … Worked 1.2 innings of scoreless relief against Sam Houston State in the Fort Worth Regional on May 30 … Went a stretch of 14 consecutive appearances (27.1 innings) from March 30 – May 31 without allowing a run, before surrendering a run to Sienna in the Fort Worth Regional.

His 19 relief appearances were the fifth most on the DBU pitching staff … Went 0-2 with a 7.80 ERA in 15 innings on the mound … Made his collegiate debut in a Patriot uniform on February 21 and tossed one inning of scoreless relief with a strikeout versus Mississippi Valley State … Struck out both batters he faced against Mississippi Valley State on February 23 … Fanned three and allowed one run in two innings of work at Oral Roberts on March 9 … Worked 1.1 innings without surrendering a run and striking out one in a 5-4 win at TCU on March 26 … Struck out two in one scoreless inning of work at Baylor on April 3 … Tossed 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball on April 28 versus UT San Antonio … Came on in the top of the sixth to throw two shutout innings and strike out three batters in a 2-0 win versus No. 10 Oklahoma on April 30.

Earned an invitation to pitch for the Team USA Baseball Collegiate National Team … Became the third player in DBU history since the program joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 2004 to be invited to compete for a roster spot on Team USA (Austin Krum earned an invitation in 2006 and Victor Black in 2008) … Prior to last summer, served in a dual role as a relief pitcher and infielder for the West Virginia Miners in the summer of 2013 … Rated as the No. 5 prospect in the Prospect League by Baseball America … Team won the Prospect League Championship.
