Anna Jobe

Anna Jobe begins her second season as Assistant Coach for the DBU Women’s Soccer Team. Jobe joined the DBU staff following the hire of Marcus Wood in January 2022. In her first season with the Patriots, DBU posted a 17-2-1 record and won both the regular season and tournament titles in the Lone Star Conference. Entering the NCAA postseason as the top seed in the South Central Regional, the Patriots eventually reached the regional finals and the Sweet 16.

In her work with DBU’s goalkeepers in 2022, the Patriots ranked No. 15 in the nation in goals allowed per game, surrendering a school record 0.60 goals per game average. Patriot goalkeeper, Adriana Schroeder, also led the LSC in goals against average (.634) and totaled seven shutouts on the season.

Prior to DBU, Jobe served a three-year stint as the Co-Head women’s soccer coach at Northwestern State University, where she coached with her husband Jess Jobe. Anna helped lead the program to 32-21-3 record and a conference tournament championship game appearance in 2019. The Lady Demons made their third postseason appearance in four seasons after not making the tournament since 2008.

In the spring of 2021, the NSU Lady Demons made history, setting school records despite an abbreviated season due to COVID-19 pandemic. The team recorded six consecutive shutouts, and went 7-0-1 in their first eight games, making it the best start in school history. Anna mentored Acelya Aydogmus, the 2020 Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, who was part of a defensive unit that only allowed six goals all season, finishing with an 0.43 goals against percentage.

In the 2019 season, the Lady Demons finished second in the Southland Conference, going 8-2-1 during conference play. NSU finished with the second most wins (8) and second most points (25) in conference play in program history. For their efforts, Anna and Jess Jobe were named All-Louisiana Coaches of the Year. Primarily in charge of the goalkeepers, Jobe guided a unit to allow just 1.24 goals per game, the program's best mark since 2009. Senior Kayla Bomben allowed just 0.99 goals per game and was named to the All-Louisiana first team. Acelya Aydogmus recorded six shutouts on the year, which is fifth in school history.

Prior to NSU, Anna spent 2017 as a volunteer assistant coach for the women’s soccer team at Dallas Baptist, which won the Heartland Conference regular season and conference tournament titles. The Patriots finished 15-4-2 and advanced to the Division II NCAA Tournament.

From 2012-2016, Anna served on the coaching staff at Baylor under coaches Paul and Marci Jobson. While working primarily with the goalkeepers, Anna also led Bible studies and served as a spiritual mentor for the soccer student athletes. The Bears posted winning records in all five seasons, reaching the Big 12 Tournament each year, becoming Big 12 Champions in 2012.

Anna earned her master’s degree in Sports Pedagogy from Baylor University in 2013 and her bachelor’s degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science from the University of Mobile in 2011.

At Mobile, Anna (then Maddox) was an accomplished goalkeeper. She achieved NAIA All-American status three times, was a two-time defensive player of the year (Southern States Athletics Conference) and a four-time all-conference selection.

During the summer before her senior season, Jobe played semi-professional soccer in the WPSL with the Buxmont Torch.

Concurrent with her playing career, Anna spent two seasons as the head girls’ soccer coach at the Alabama School of Math and Science, leading the Dragons to an undefeated season in her first campaign.

Her coaching licenses include the NSCAA National Diploma as well as the NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma.

Anna married Jess Jobe in December of 2016, and they have a son named Sterling and a daughter Josie.
