Anna Jobe is in her fourth season at DBU and serves in various roles in the athletic department. While Anna has spent most of her career as a women's soccer coach, she most recently contributed to the department by overseeing the discipleship and development of student-athletes at DBU. Jobe also serves as the Director of Operations for the DBU Men’s Soccer Team. Â
From 2022-2024, Jobe was active with the DBU Men's and Women's Soccer teams, serving as the Director of Operations for both teams and the Goalkeeper Coach for the Women. She also mentored women's soccer student-athletes and led a weekly Bible study for the team.Â
Jobe arrived at DBU in 2021 following a three-year stint as the Co-Head women’s soccer coach at Northwestern State University, where she coached with her husband, Jess Jobe.
Anna helped lead the program to a 32-21-3 record and a conference tournament championship appearance in 2019. The Lady Demons made their third postseason appearance in four seasons after not making the tournament since 2008.
In Spring 2021, the NSU Lady Demons made history, setting school records despite an abbreviated season due to COVID-19 pandemic. The team recorded six consecutive shutouts and went 7-0-1 in their first eight games, making it the best start in school history. Anna mentored Acelya Aydogmus, the 2020 Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, who was part of a defensive unit that only allowed six goals all season, finishing with a 0.43 goals-against percentage.Â
In the 2019 season, the Lady Demons finished second in the Southland Conference, going 8-2-1 during conference play. NSU finished with the second most wins (8) and second most points (25) in conference play and program history. For their efforts, Anna and Jess Jobe were named All Louisiana Coaches of the Year. Primarily in charge of the goalkeepers, Jobe guided a unit to allow just 1.24 goals per game, the program's best mark since 2009. Senior Kayla Bomben allowed just 0.99 goals per game and was named to the All-Louisiana first team. Acelya Aydogmus recorded six shutouts on the year, which is the fifth-most in school history.Â
Before NSU, Anna spent 2017 as a volunteer assistant coach for the women’s soccer team at Dallas Baptist, which won the Heartland Conference regular season and conference tournament titles. The Patriots finished 15-4-2 and advanced to the Division II NCAA Tournament.
From 2012 to 2016, Anna served on the coaching staff at Baylor under coaches Paul and Marci Jobson. While working primarily with the goalkeepers, Anna also led Bible studies and served as a spiritual mentor for the soccer student-athletes. The Bears posted winning records in all five seasons, reaching the Big 12 Tournament each year and becoming Big 12 Champions in 2012.
Anna earned her master’s degree in Sports Pedagogy from Baylor University in 2013 and her bachelor’s degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science from the University of Mobile in 2011.
At Mobile, Anna (then Maddox) was an accomplished goalkeeper. She achieved NAIA All-American status three times, was a two-time defensive player of the year (Southern States Athletics Conference), and was a four-time all-conference selection.
During the summer before her senior season, Jobe played semi-professional soccer in the WPSL with the Buxmont Torch.
Concurrent with her playing career, Anna spent two seasons as the head girls’ soccer coach at the Alabama School of Math and Science, leading the Dragons to an undefeated season in her first campaign.
Her coaching licenses include the NSCAA National Diploma and the NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma.
Anna married Jess Jobe in December 2016. They have a son named Sterling and a daughter named Josie. The Jobes attend Watermark Community Church.
