Jimmy Garcia enters his third season as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach and second season as the Women’s Goalkeeper trainer at Dallas Baptist University. The 2019 season saw the DBU Women's team win both the regular-season and tournament titles in the Lone Star Conference.  Following a year in which the Patriots earned the No. 2 seed in the South Central Region and hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, Garcia was part of a staff that was named the United Soccer Coaches Regional Staff of the Year. That same year Hope Koym, earned honors as Goalkeeper of the Year in the Lone Star Conference.  

Garcia came to DBU after coaching at Texas Woman’s University (2013-2015) as the goalkeeper trainer for the Pioneers.  Garcia began his collegiate career as a student-athlete at Mountain View Community College (2002-2003) then transferred to Richland Community College (2004-2005) where he helped lead the Thunderducks to a National Title earning First Team All-Tournament.

Continuing his playing career, Garcia played for the USL PDL-Pro League, El Paso Patriots (2005) and helped lead the team to a conference championship that year. In 2008, Garcia spent the year in South America, playing for La Paz F.C. of Bolivia Primera Division. From (2009-2011), Garcia played semi-pro for Vitesse Dallas of the PASL League where he helped lead the team to a pair of national championships.  
  
Garcia began his coaching career with Richland Community College in 2009 where he helped coach both the men and women goalkeepers. In 2009, both the Richland Men and Women advanced to the National Championships. The Richland Women were crowned national champions with an impressive 18-3-1 record. The Richland men's goalkeeper, Damian Peralta, earned First–Team All-Tournament honors in 2009.

In 2010, Garcia spent a season with Northwood University as goalkeeper trainer. Northwood ended a great season with 15-4-1 overall record. Goalkeeper, Lyndzey Goff earned First Team All-Conference honors and was RRAC Newcomer of the Year.  

Following two stellar seasons at Northwood, Garci became the interim head coach at Mountain View Community College in 2012. Garcia led the men to a 7-9-1 season and the women to an impressive 11-4-1 season, falling short in the conference final.

 In 2013, Garcia joined Texas Women’s University (2013-2015) and spent two years as the goalkeeper trainer with the Pioneers.    
   
Garcia is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a certification in Gerontology. Garcia also has Computer Aided Drafting and Design Degree from ITT Technical Institute.

In addition to his college coaching experience, Jimmy has been involved in multiple facets of coaching through the years. Garcia has been part of the Academy Professional coaching staff at FC Dallas 2010-2012 and current goalkeeper trainer with the youth groups in the club. Garcia also trains goalkeepers at Tx Spirit Soccer Club and has been part of the North Texas ODP Regional Coaching Staff from (2010-2016) and holds National Youth, D, E Coaching licenses. He also earned a United Soccer Goalkeeping Diploma.
    
Jimmy is a father of two, Maximus and Jonathan Garcia residing in Grand Prairie, Texas. Garcia attends Holy Spirit Catholic Church where he serves as a Catechist and teaches Sunday School to third graders.
